Queen Letizia looked radiant in an ankle-grazing, sheer black dress as she arrived at Misericordia in Palma de Mallorca on July 30.
The Spanish royal teamed the “Uterque Black Sleeveless Plumetis Dress” by Massimo Dutti with statement gold accessories, including strappy wedges, Fern earrings and a small clutch bag.
While Letizia stayed true to her glamorous style with the chic ensemble, it resembled Kate, Princess of Wales’s Parisian look which she debuted in March 2017.
The then-Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a black, tea-length Alexander McQueen dress cinched in at the waist with a thin black leather belt while attending a gala at the British Embassy in Paris.
Both dresses were made from uniquely textured fabric with Kate’s crafted from a tweed boucle material, featuring a deep V neck, and light fraying at the edges.
Letizia’s flowing gown was made of a rustic plumetis fabric covered in pompom details in the same shade of black. The sheer dress had a thin underlay which stopped just below the knee to subtly expose the royal’s toned calves.
Complete with spaghetti straps and small ties at the neck and waist, the dress gave a similar silhouette to Kate’s gown though it was slightly looser around the hips.
Though the dresses were slightly different in their cut, the looks donned by the two iconic royals were the same in many ways.
Kate and Letizia accessorised their plain dresses with statement jewellery in a tonal colour palette.
The Princess of Wales donned shimmering pearl earrings with a matching necklace and a ring to compliment the textured black fabric of her Alexander McQueen garment.
Though the Spanish Queen favoured gold jewels to suit her bronzed complexion yesterday, she shares the same love of fern-inspired earrings as Princess Kate.
The British royal often styles her Catherine Zoraida 18ct gold drop Fern earrings (£180) to elevate simple outfits, just as Letizia did yesterday.
When Kate stepped out in the black dress at the British Embassy in Paris, she used her silky brunette waves to polish off the look.
Worn loosely over her shoulders which were left bare by the sleeveless dress, the look was emulated by Letizia at the weekend.
The Queen of Spain opted for the same loose hairstyle as Kate – a feature the two stylish royals’ are best known for.
Similarly to the British princess, 50-year-old Letizia also chose to wear strappy shoes with the subtly glamorous black gown.
She opted for the Monty high wedge heel espadrilles (£118) by London designer Kurt Geiger London – a summer style which is often donned by Kate too.
