In today’s service announcement, Royal Mail said: “Weekend delivery and collection services are expected to take place on Saturday, November 11 and parcel deliveries on Sunday, November 12.
“Please visit royalmail.com/services-near-you for our Customer Service Point opening times, for you to collect urgent items for which we’ve left a ‘Something for you’ card.”
Most of Royal Mail’s network will be running smoothly this weekend, although some UK areas will likely be impacted by delays.
Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”

- Crieff DO (PH5, PH6 and PH7)

Royal Mail apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused and thanked them for their understanding.
The postal service added: “If you need to collect an item for which we’ve left a ‘Something for You’ card, please check royalmail.com/services-near-you for details of our Customer Service Point locations and opening hours.”
Poor weather conditions can affect deliveries. Significant snowfall, icy conditions or localised flooding can cause your street or some of the roads en route to your address to become too dangerous to access.
Royal Mail said: “We will always make every attempt to get your mail to you daily, if it’s safe for us to do so. Our postmen and women may start their rounds but are unable to finish them because of issues along the way.
“Conditions can improve or deteriorate quickly, so we undertake risk assessments throughout the day to ensure we’re doing all we can to get to as many addresses as possible. And we always work hard to return to full services as quickly as it’s safe for us to do so.”
