SAN DIEGO —
San Diego police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Oak Park early Sunday evening and the driver fled without stopping.
The collision happened shortly after 6 p.m. on 54th Street near College Boulevard, Officer John Buttle said.
The woman was in a traffic lane when she was hit, he said. It was not immediately clear why she was in the road, or if she might have been crossing the street when she was struck.
Buttle said the driver took off. The officer was not able to provide a description of the vehicle that hit the woman.
The victim was taken to a hospital with a broken leg, and her injuries were not considered life-threatening, he said.
