The skincare industry is saturated, with millions of products that claim to turn back time and make you look younger instantly.
According to Ella & Jo Cosmetics co-founders, Charlene Flanagan and Niamh Ryan, there is one product everyone – no matter their age or skincare concerns – should be using and it’s really cheap.
They explained: “You don’t need to spend a fortune to look after and rejuvenate your skin.
“Simply grab some coconut oil and some cold spoons from the fridge and massage the face to drain toxins, reduce puffiness, and increase circulation and blood flow to help reveal brighter, firmer and more youthful-looking skin.”

You can also warm up the coconut oil between your hands – but remember a little goes a long way – and do a couple of facial yoga exercises.
Then, start at the collarbone and work up along the jawline towards the ears.
The beauty experts recommend applying firm pressure with your fingertips and knuckles along the jawline.
To reduce puffiness, it’s best to start at the bottom and work upwards.
You can also lightly tap along the eye socket with the tip of your fingertips underneath the eyes to reduce puffiness and dark circles.
The experts also recommended “pinching along your eyebrows to release tension and stimulate the muscles to prevent sagging”.
Vita Coco Coconut Oil is currently on offer at a variety of retailers for as little as £1.50.
Once these exercises are performed, simply remove the coconut oil thoroughly with a damp, warm microfibre cloth.
Next, suncream or SPF should be applied – and this is “one of the key skincare products” that should be used every day.
“It’s the most effective pro-ageing product because it protects what you already have,” the experts said.
“UV damage can result in sagging of the skin, loss of tone and pigmentation – all of which can be prevented by using a broad-spectrum SPF.”
Apply it daily to the face, neck, ears and hands.
When it comes to applying makeup, beauty professionals suggested switching up your products if you have “mature skin”.
Instead of powders, opt for “blushers, bronzers and eyeshadows [in] cream formulas” as they “help add moisture back into mature skin”.
To add to this, cream products are “more pigmented” which are more effective at covering “redness or age spots”.
Powders also “settle into and enhance fine lines and wrinkles” whereas cream formulas can add an “instant glow and lift”, Ella & Jo co-founders told The Sun.
