This was a very pretty floral blouse, which totally contrasted the leather but in a chic, fashion-forward way. Sophie has mastered the art of coupling feminine styles with more edgy ones.
Sophie’s Nina Ricca Leather Midi Pencil Skirt costs £1,790. It nipped the Duchess in at the waist and hugged her legs which created the illusion of an hourglass figure.
If the jacket and skirt weren’t enough leather, chic Sophie decided to go for leather boots too, but in camel rather than black.
She slayed in the Carina’ Knee High Tan Leather Boots from Reiss, priced at a modest £120 down from £348. However, these are currently only available in black.
As for jewellery, Sophie went for some dainty drop earrings and a rather fabulous pendant for the fashion lovers out there.
This was the ‘Constance’ Amulette Rose Gold Pendant by Hermès, in the shape of a handbag. It costs $8,200 (around £6,770).
Sophie pulled her hair up into a loose bun and wore a classic daytime makeup look, complete with dark smokey eyes and pink lips.
But despite being daring and edgy, not everyone was a fan of the leather look. Comments about this royal style choice were certainly a mixed bag.
On Instagram, @scarfie1 commented: “Brown boots with black leather suit??? Bizarre.” @tashas_2000 made a few suggestions: “The pieces are great, but they don’t work all together. It needed some edit and some serious styling. I feel like Sophie has some fab pieces but some of her look lacks a more refined eye. It is not not appropriate or nothing of that, but I think a good stylist would help her to elevate her game. A new haircut goes without saying.”
However, @mydocuments_ said: “My my my, Sophie is out there taking the RISKS! I actually love it – I love the leather on leather, I love the mix of brown and black, I love the blouse. My girl looks great here.”
