Police are looking for a 49-year-old man who allegedly shot at his roommate Monday morning in a Midway District apartment before fleeing from the scene, police said.
The incident began when a man called police shortly after 11:20 a.m. to say his roommate shot at him after he told him he couldn’t live there anymore, said police Officer Sarah Foster.
The victim barricaded himself in the bathroom but eventually came out of the apartment. He was uninjured.
San Diego police SWAT officers believed the suspect had barricaded himself inside the apartment. They evacuated nearby units in the apartment building on Midway Drive west of Rosecrans Street, Foster said.
Officers later learned that the suspect was not inside the apartment, and the containment was broken down around 4:45 p.m., said Officer John Buttle.
Police had not found the suspect as of Monday evening, Buttle said.
