A Russian-American tennis star has opened up about the body-shaming she is frequently subjected to about her physical appearance online.
Amanda Anisimova, 21, has hit back at trolls who slated her with critical comments about having an “unathletic physique” or “giant boobs” after she posted a candid mirror selfie on Instagram.
The 5ft11 athlete posted a screenshot of a direct message she’d received on her stories, and wrote: “The most unathletic body ever, narrow shoulders and giant boobs.”
The tennis woman nonchalantly replied to the message with a simple “thank you” followed by a kiss emoji.
In another story, the tennis sensation posted a picture of herself blowing a kiss to the camera, followed by the caption: “But enjoy your life, I’ll go enjoy mine.”

A Russian American tennis player claims she has received a volley of abuse online for her physical appearance over the years.
“The number of people who comment on my body every day on social media… will never understand what the hyper fixation is about,” she wrote.
Having made an impressive debut in her sports career, Anisimova has openly struggled since the sudden passing of her father in 2020, after he had a heart attack.
Speaking to The Post near the time, she said: “It was the worst thing that ever happened to me. It was very tough.
“As soon as I got back to tennis, it is what made me happy. And I know that’s what my dad would want me to be doing. That is what would make him proud.”
Despite slowing down in her career after the tragedy, the tennis athlete made an impressive comeback last year after winning another singles title.
What’s more, Amanda made it to the quarter-finals, which resulted in her return to the top 25 players in the world.
She is set to perform in the French Open later this month, having recently competed in the Australian Open, where she was defeated by Marta Kostyuk.
