Two men were arrested Tuesday in connection to a late-night shooting in Lemon Grove last year that left one person dead, sheriff’s officials said.
Richard Charles Lee, a 47-year-old from San Diego, and Reality Grayson, a 44-year-old from Temecula, were arrested on suspicion of killing 23-year-old Darren Singleton Jr., who was gunned down Sept. 18 near his Lemon Grove home, sheriff’s Lt. Michael Krugh said.
Both men were also charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, according to online arrest logs. They remain in custody without bail.
On the night of the shooting, deputies responded to reports from multiple people who heard gunshots near Dain Court and Elkhorn Street around 10:55 p.m., Krugh said.
Deputies found Singleton lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, investigators said. He died at the scene.
Three months later, Lee was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Task Force while leaving his residence on Macaulay Street near Rosecrans Street in San Diego, Krugh said. Around the same time, Grayson was arrested at his home on Knollridge Drive west of state Route 79 in Temecula.
No other information on the shooting or what led investigators to arrest the two men was immediately available Wednesday.
