UFC Austin’s main card is official, and a scintillating lightweight showdown between Beneil Dariush and Arman Tsarukyan sits atop the marquee.
Ranked No. 4 and No. 10 respectively in MMA Fighting’s global lightweight rankings, Dariush and Tsarukyan face off in a five-round non-title main event on Dec. 2 at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
Dariush (22-5-1) seeks to right his ship after seeing his eight-fight UFC win streak snapped at the hands of Charles Oliveira’s first-round TKO stoppage in June. Tsarukyan (20-3) has won seven of his own past eight contests, capped off by back-to-back victories over Damir Ismagulov and Joaquim Silva. The winner of Dariush vs. Tsarukyan is expected to move back into the title mix for the UFC’s talent-rich lightweight division.
Joining Dariush vs. Tsarukyan on the main card lineup are five additional bouts, four of which feature battles between two athletes ranked on the UFC’s media-generated rankings.
Fellow lightweights Dan Hooker and Bobby Green meet in the co-main event.
