A sheriff’s official on Monday released the name of the 51-year-old man who was fatally shot in a Lemon Grove park on Sunday afternoon.
Anthony Trujillo, a Lemon Grove resident, was found lying in Kunkel Park shortly after 12:40 p.m. suffering from a gunshot wound. The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and determined he had been shot in the neck, homicide Lt. Michael Krugh said in a statement.

Krugh said detectives have not yet determined the motivation and circumstances of the shooting.
They believe the victim and the suspect were acquainted and are “actively seeking further information to establish the facts of this case,” he said in a news release.
