Some in-person vote centers in San Diego County are opening Saturday as the Nov. 7 special election fast approaches.
A total of 12 vote centers spread across the county’s supervisorial District 4, the city of Chula Vista and two North County water districts will be open for early voting.
Beginning Saturday, those vote centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Election Day, when they and 10 other vote centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ballot drop boxes around the county are also now open.
In District 4, voters will be choosing between San Diego City Councilmember Monica Montgomery Steppe and activist Amy Reichert in a special runoff election for supervisor to replace Nathan Fletcher.
In Chula Vista, voters will elect a city attorney.
And in the Fallbrook Public Utility District and Rainbow Municipal Water District, residents will vote on ballot measures that would allow the two North County water districts to separate from the San Diego County Water Authority.
Eligible residents who wish to vote in any of the November elections and missed the deadline to register can still conditionally register and vote in person at a vote center.
Voters who choose to return their ballot through the mail are advised to remember to sign and date the ballot envelope to ensure their vote will count. Voters who mail their ballot can track it by signing up for “Where’s My Ballot?”
Voters can check their registration status or locate vote centers and ballot drop boxes online at sdvote.com. They can also call (858) 565-5800 or (800) 696-0136 for information.
