Water bills for households in England and Wales will increase by an average of £123 a year on April 1. This will bring the average annual bill up to £603, or an increase of around £10 per month.
How much your bill rises depends on your water supplier – but this is not something you can change. This means some households will see even steeper rises than the average. The increase is part of a five-year plan to fund essential upgrades to water supply systems and reduce sewage discharges. From here, bills are expected to rise by an average of £31 annually.
