Two San Diego County residents died this week after the plane they were in crashed in west Texas, investigators said.
The crash was reported shortly before 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Tom Green County, about 180 miles northwest of Austin. Customs and Border Protection help locate the downed aircraft — a Pilatus PC-12 — on a private ranch about four miles south of Christoval.
Emergency crews found two victims, identified Friday as Gregg and Courtney Seaman, of San Diego County.
The plane apparently crashed while attempting to approach a runway at the San Angelo Regional Airport, Texas media reported.
“We overshot it,” the pilot can be heard saying to Air Traffic Control. Eleven seconds later, another message — and the last message — came through.
“We have a problem.”
The aircraft is owned by Timeless USA LLC, located in Deleware, according to online records. The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
