The Pacific storm that hit San Diego County Wednesday turned out to be stronger than forecast in many areas, and a second, wetter system will arrive Friday. Collectively, they’ll reduce the risk of wildfire ahead of the Santa Ana winds that are expected to arrive early next week.
The National Weather Service had forecast that most areas west of Interstate 15 would receive 0.30 to 0.40 inches of rain from Wednesday’s storm, while inland valleys and foothills would get roughly 0.70 inches and the mountains would receive as much as 1.00 inches.
